Cloud Strife is a major protagonist in the Final Fantasy VII series. He is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. He also appears in numerous entries of the Final Fantasy VII series as a supporting character, including Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core.
Cloud made his first appearance in the original Final Fantasy VII game circa 1997. Since his release, Cloud has been in a whopping 66 games! This also includes non Final Fantasy titles such as Super Smash Bros and Kingdom Hearts.

Cloud Strife is considered one of the most iconic video game protagonists, and he has been since VII's release. His brooding attitude and stance, iconic hair and fashion, and huge Buster Sword, has played an inspiration and cameo in many characters, games, tv show, anime, everything. Most recently, even inspiring Lance Slashblade from the movie Inside Out 2 that just released!

Fun Facts!

Cloud is described as reserved, stoic, selfless, and a little cocky. He's a quiet person who tends to keep others at a distance, but he becomes the loyal leader of his group.

Cloud claims that he has never suffered from motion sickness, but it's later revealed that his memories of an event have been warped. He was actually doubled over with car sickness, but told the story to appear tougher and more skilled.

He was originally supposed to have slicked-back black hair (im glad he doesnt)

Cloud was partly based on a Japanese Ronin named Miyamoto Musashi

Meet Cute

My affection for cloud started during quarantine about 4/5 years ago! i knew of him before hand, and i saw him a bit while growing up online, but when my schedule opened up while stuck in my bedroom, i got to really focus on my interests.
I remember seeing fanart of him on twitter and edits of him on tiktok, i thought he was a cutie so i got more and more into the game and the franchise. Overtime he has just become one of my favorite characters EVER. Aside from being pretty and blonde (which i like in a character), his personality and backstory really appeal to me. Like i said earlier in the writing about cloud, he was one of the first protagonists that showed mental health struggles and being softer on the inside. He is shown to be very sweet and caring. and also think his BIG ASS SWORD IS SO COOL!!! i plan on getting an actuall tattoo of the buster sword on my arm.... i want to give cloud a little kiss and tuck him into bed.
He is a dork and i love him.
